Accounting for externalities in cross-sectional economic models of climate change impacts

چکیده

Environmental effects and natural resources depletion associated with agriculture production affect the response to climate change. Traditional cross-sectional models ignore this requirement. This research estimates impact of on European using a continental scale Ricardian analysis. We correct farm income by accounting for (energy, fertilisers, pesticides, water) use intensity calculate sustainable value sample 9497 specialized field crop farms. Compared traditional method, marginal temperature remain positive (but less positive) in Northern countries, while it leads damages Southern countries when net revenue farms' values are used as dependent variables. Accounting environmental capital improves ability method estimate functions long run.

Climate change impacts: accounting for the human response

The assessment of potential impacts of climate change is progressing from taxonomies and enumeration of the magnitude of potential direct effects on individuals, societies, species, and ecosystems according to a limited number of metrics toward a more integrated approach that also encompasses the vast range of human response to experience and risk. Recent advances are both conceptual and method...

Climate Change and Agriculture: Economic Impacts

Agriculture is arguably the most important sector of the economy that is highly dependent on climate. A large body of scientific data and models have been developed to predict the impacts of the contemporary and future climate. Since the first IPCC Assessment Report was published in 1990, substantial efforts have been directed toward understanding climate change impacts on agricultural systems....

Climate Change and Economic Growth: Impacts and Interactions

An integrated assessment model (ENVISAGE), including a CGE-based economic module and a climate module, is used to assess the effects of a variety of economic impacts induced by climate change. These impacts include: sea level rise, variations in crop yields, water availability, human health, tourism, energy demand. Two scenarios are compared: a baseline growth path, disregarding any climate cha...
